I believe that Victory was the ship on the beach that M'Clintock looked for unsuccessfully, not one of Franklin's. I am writing about it.
Randall.Randall Osczevskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09858473343619938440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455284570156061492.post-85911456179253672532017-06-08T08:35:20.561+02:002017-06-08T08:35:20.561+02:00Hi Randall, sorry for my late answer. You are welcome, I have always wonder myself where the rest of the ships which participated in the discovery of the Northwest Passage and in the searching for Franklin would be. Apparently there was nothing left of the VIctory but maybe Krusenstern was spared and you are right, it is still there. I saw your satellite images of what you think is it and I completely agree that definitely there is something there with the shape and size of our little consort ship.Andrés Paredeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17283802897907742244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455284570156061492.post-55095568300818509192017-06-02T18:58:56.110+02:002017-06-02T18:58:56.110+02:00Not painting Victory red in the painting might hav...Not painting Victory red in the painting might have been an artistic decision.
Randall Osczevskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09858473343619938440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455284570156061492.post-38459243153580606592017-06-02T18:47:43.742+02:002017-06-02T18:47:43.742+02:00A painting by Ross at the SPRI shows Victory at an...A painting by Ross at the SPRI shows Victory at anchor with Krusenstern nearby Y:66/3/40. Only Krusenstern is painted red. It is 40% of the length of Victory. In two others, it is 50% and 33%, so 40% is probably close.
Randall Osczevskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09858473343619938440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455284570156061492.post-2422654225087713622017-03-29T04:34:03.901+02:002017-03-29T04:34:03.901+02:00Could it be 17.5 m long and 5 m wide approximately...Could it be 17.5 m long and 5 m wide approximately?
